No one remembers when they arrived in Sta. Ana, but their presence always felt as ancient as the forest itself. When the town was bathed in the light of the red moon, many stood in horror. The townsfolk feared that the end of times was upon them, but amidst the crowd stood a silent pair.
For in the moon’s crimson luster, they found an old memory. Of the sound of the waves carving the shape of the land. Of the first sprigs of grass to sprout from the soil. Of the footsteps of the soldiers, and the unsheathing of steel. Of a devotion replaced, a divinity forgotten.
In the light of the red moon, they remembered who they were. And the winds howled to tell the world that they would never forget again.
